Dr. Angela MurphyDr. Angela Murphy has cared for pets as an emergency veterinarian at the Animal Emergency & Referral Center since 2006. A native of Rockville, Maryland, Dr. Murphy loves working with animals and finds it very rewarding to help clients and their pets lead long, happy lives together.

She attended the University of Georgia and majored in Animal and Dairy Science. She was granted early acceptance into the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Murphy was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She currently is pursuing Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Dr. Murphy lives near Atlanta and also cares for pets at an emergency clinic in Georgia. When she's not busy with her duties at the two clinics, she enjoys going on hikes with her husband, Keith Thurman, and their dogs, Cara, Cecil, Celia and Clayton, and riding her horse, Waldo (pictured here with Dr. Murphy). All of Dr. Murphy's dogs are rescues. She also enjoys gardening in her spare time.
