Veterinarians
Dr. Pierre Bichsel graduated from the University of Berne, Switzerland. He completed one year of assistantship in a small animal private practice, then spent six years in different departments of the University of Berne, namely an internship in the Small Animal Clinic, diagnostic and research in the Rabies Control Center, and clinical work and research at the Institute for Animal Neurology. He then moved to the United States for his residency in neurology with Professor John E Oliver, Jr. for three years in Athens, GA. He went back to Switzerland as an assistant professor in clinical neurology at the University of Berne. He opened his own private practice in Geneva, Switzerland a few years later. Dr. Bichsel moved back to the United States to join Dr. Ronald Lyman’s team at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Fort Pierce, FL.
Dr. Bichsel is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology). His fields of expertise involve neurological diagnosis, electrodiagnostic testing, neuroradiology, and neurosurgery in dogs and cats.
Dr. Bichsel is the author of more than 30 publications. He regularly presents conferences in the United States and around the world.
